Hi Everybody,
I don’t know if anyone would be interested but there are a few beds at the Recreation Center that someone could use and also if anyone wants to, there is an area of grass that you could pitch a tent and sleep there. We won’t be able to ‘move in’ until after 1:00 on August 1st but I wanted you all to know that you’re welcome to camp out there if you want.
We should be getting the finished announcement out soon!

Dear Wold Cousins,

By now, most of you have heard rumors of a Wold/Olsen Reunion planned for this summer.
Well, those rumors are true! Carol and Roland Minson, Andy Wold, and I are working on the details and collecting contact information and will be sending out official announcements.
We’re still in the planning stages but I wanted to get these questionnaires out as soon as possible so you would have plenty of time to distribute them out to others in your families. Our goal is to have them completed for all of those that aren’t included in the “Blue Book”. If there is anyone in your family that has passed away and is not included in the “Blue Book”, could you please fill one out for them? I’ve included my contact information on the bottom of the questionnaire, so please return completed forms to me. I would like to have them collected before the reunion.
Here are just a few of the activities we are working on and some information that might be helpful.

Date: August 1, 2009
Place: Peterson, Utah
Whittier Recreation Center
Time: 2:00 pm (not definite yet)
Activities: Tour of the Wold landmarks or places of interest
Self Introduction of families
Slideshows of ancestors and families
Display of heirlooms and pictures
Presentation about Norway and the areas our families immigrated from
Supper provided (cost to be determined after we have all RSVP’s

August 2, Sunday Morning
Informal brunch for those who want to come back and just visit and share. No activities planned.
Map: We’ll provide a map to the recreation center with the official announcement. We’ll also send out a list of motels soon. Ogden will be the closest place to stay but is only 20 minutes away.

Here is a selection of motels and hotels in Ogden, although not complete by any means. I know August 1st is a BIG reunion date so you might want to make reservations soon. Any of these locations would be at the most 30 minutes away and of course Salt Lake is only about 50 minutes away if you want to stay there.
